The weekend of Nov. 16th-18th, Emma and her mom spent in Brooklyn and Queens shooting a film for Gillian Arthur from NYU, called "Coloring Time". Emma played the character"Rita".
Rita is a vivacious, adventurous, young girl who wants to hold onto her imagination. She runs away to avoid growing up, but in doing so she runs away from a chance to connect with those around her. In a moment of need she is lost because she doesn't know how to connect. Rita returns home, seeing it as the only place to find help and instead returns to an empty house. Her real life situation forces a maturity on her that allows little room for the imagination she seeks to hold onto.
This was an exciting shoot for Emma. She got to film in beautiful "Prospect Park" in Brooklyn, and she finished the shoot by doing her first crying scene, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. It was a thrill, and very emotional.
She had a great experience with this film. Everybody was really nice and very professional.
She'll be going back into New York for voice-overs for the film. So stay tuned for the completion date.
